Academies Hacks
Welcome to the 2nd Annual hackathon hosted by the Academies of Loudoun! In this hackathon, you have two days to complete a project of your choice. You will receive assistance from various tech mentors and be able to participate in a number of workshops and activities where you will learn about bleeding edge technologies. Everything will be online. Google Meet links will be listed on this website, and each Meet room will be monitored by an Adult. Prizes will be awarded to the best of each category judged on many aspects.

What is a hackathon?
Its an event where students learn bleeding edge technologies, build tech projects, and meet like minded people all for free!
Is there a deadline?
Just sign up for the hackathon before the hackathons starts!
Sign up by May 29 IS FOOD FREE?
No food! It's all virtual.
Is everything online
Yes! There is no in person component, everything is virtual.

Who can attend?
Academies Hacks is open for all middle, high, post-high school, students to participate in. Adults and post-high school students can volunteer and mentor.
Do I need a team?
You can work alone or in groups of maximum 4 people.
Is this an overnight hackathon?
Yes! Everything is online though.

Do I have to pay?
No, everything is free. Shirts and food will be provided and will also be free for students and mentors.
What should I bring?
Everything is online, so you don't need to bring stuff anywhere. At home, just make sure you have a computer and computer charger.
I don't KNow how to code!
You can still show up and attend all the workshops. Most workshops are available for beginners. In addition there are many mentors available to help you.
